Here you will find a set-up of all planned tournaments during the 2024 season.
Monday Golf
Monday Golf is a stroke-competition with full player handicap over 18 holes on black trail. The tournament starts early May and terminates in September. The rounds are part of an «Order-of-Merit», where the 12 best placements count. For every round points are given in the following way:
1st place 24, 2nd place 20, 3rd place 17, 4th place 14, 5th place 11, 6th place 9,
7th place 7, 8th place 5, 9th place 4, and so on until 12th place with 1 point. For participation in the Monday Golf you pay a total of NOK 1.200:- for the whole season, or NOK 100:- per round. Fee includes coffee/soft drink and waffel/hot dog/ chocolate bar. Prices awarded after each round.
Tirsdagsnier'n
The Tuesday Nine is a stroke competition with full player handicap over 9 holes and is played from black tees. Front-9 and back-9 is played every second week. The Tuesday Nine is part of an «Order-of-Merit», where the player’s 9 best results count. For every round points are given in the following way: 1st place 24, 2nd place 20, 3rd place 17, 4th place 14, 5th place 11, 6th place 9, 7th place 7, 8th place 5, 9th place 4 and so on until 12th place with 1 point.
For participation in the Tuesday Nine you pay NOK 50:- per round. Prices are awarded every time.
Senior Golf
Senior Golf is also a stroke competition with full player handicap over 9 holes, played every Wednesday on the white trail. Front-9 and back-9 are played every second week. Senior Golf starts in the middle of May and terminates in mid-September. For every round points are awarded as follows: 1st place 26, 2nd place 22, 3rd place 19, 4th place 16, 5th place 14, 6th place12, 7th place 10, 8th place 8, 9th place 7, and so on up to 15th place with 1 point.
For participation in the Senior Golf you pay NOK 100:- per round or NOK 1.200:- for the whole season. Fee includes coffee/soft drink and waffel/hot dog/chocolate bar. Prices awarded after each round.
The Valdres Match
The Valdres Match is a tee-off tournament, where a match with 100% player handicap is played over 18 holes. The winner of the match goes on to the next round. The player listed first in the match, is responsible for arranging the next match, by the set deadline.
The Club Championship
Gross score is what counts in the club championship. The effective score per hole is the actual number of strokes you need to hit the hole. Double par + 1, which is used in other tournaments, does not apply here.
Norwegian Championship for teams
Valdres Golf has participating teams in the Norwegian Championship (NM) and belongs for the moment in 2nd division. The Team-NM is played over two days, with a round of foursome, a round of fourball and a round of single stroke play. No player handicap is used in the Team-NM. A team consists of four players and Valdres Golf Club has worked out guidelines on how to qualify for the team. Here they are:
- Last year’s winner of the club championship receives an invitiation.
- Selection of the three next players is based on participation in the Monday Golf, where the individual player’s three best gross scores count. This goes for games from the seven first rounds in the current season.
- If one cannot fill in four places, based on the above criteria, the tournament committee can invite players regardless of these.

Autumn golf
Autumn Golf is a stroke championship with full player handicap over 9 holes. On Mondays the black trail is played and on Wednesday the white one. Front-9 and back-9 is played every second time. Round 1 is played from front-9. The Autumn Golf starts the week after last round of Monday Golf and Senior Golf. We play through the autumn as long as the course- and weather-conditions allow. The rounds from the Autumn Golf forms the basis for an «Order-of-Merit». For every round points are given as follows: 1st place 24, 2nd place 20, 3rd place 17, 4th place 14, 5th place 11, 6th place 9, 7th place 7, 8th place 5, 9th place 4 and so on until 12th place 1 point.
